When they were hidden in the bunker and heard the bunker next to them being attacked by the Germans. It would be a horrible situation just knowing that you could be killed at any second. BW
I feel i reacted strongly when the family was in the hole living with fleas stuck in there skin. i just think that that would have been an unbareable spot for me to be in.
I feel I have reacted strongly to most of this book. The stuff those two have been through is so hard to read. But one of them I more strongly about is where there both in the bunker with other people and the lice and parasites have gotten really bad on all of them and the smell is so bad rochelle can't stand it. I don't know what I would of done if I have been in that situation.
The Bunker part. Because I have been a victim of a war torn country. I know how it feels to live with other strangers in a small space. We had nothing much to eat. Parents had to killed or sell the kids for food. FC
When they were living in those bunkers, the way they described them made me cringed. They were living in filth and that is disgusting, but they had to survive.
In the chapter "From the Bunker to the Atrad" where Rochelle was describing the bugs that had infested where everyone was living and how they survived on drinking the blood of the people. -Kate S
it was when they got ambushed in jack's bunker. and they all thought they were goign to die. also almost every part makes me sad how they lived and got shot at, they were kucky to survive such a horrible event.
when they were in the bunkers, the way that they all had to sleep almost right on top of each other, and they have been smelling really bad and the way they describle that in the book it made me feel all ditry and stuff.
I was very upset with the character Oscar as if rochelle didn't have enough problems already trying to stay alive living arrangemnts with other people in the camp and trying to stay diease free to deals with some one hitting on her that she thought was family was not a good thing.

ReplyDeleteI didn't like the part where the daughter made her mother drink the poison. I cannot imagine how a daughter could do that to a mother.
